I’m guessing this might be Cloudflare related as I moved in the past couple of days to using Cloudflare in front of my site, but the Ivory Search now just continues spinning and no results are returned. Site https://salutethepig.com/ Any suggestions on what I need to do to get the plug-in working again? Thanks.

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
I visited your shared website and tested the search that worked fine for me without any issue as shown in the attached screenshot.
Is the issue resolved for you now?
Best regards,

Thanks for checking; I’d earlier disabled then re-enabled the CF caching plug-in and the Ivory Search facility sprang back into life 🙂

Glad to hear that it is working for you after clearing the cache.

Looks like the issue is back, affecting the search on iOS devices. Clearing the cache had no effect this time. All content blockers disabled. Any thoughts or logs I can send to check this?

I visited your website and saw this is happening because of the error that occurred on your website as shown in the attached screenshot.
Please fix the error to resolve the issue.
Also, please try temporarily deactivating the Cloudflare cache.

Thank for such a quick response. I’ve disabled the Content-Security-Policy setting in .htaccess for the moment which re-enables the Ivory Search; do you by any chance know what settings I’d need to add to Content-Security-Policy: to whitelist Ivory Search to work?
- January 9, 2022 at 7:04 PM #10224
You don’t have to whitelist Ivory Search but the WordPress /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php file.

Perfect; thanks very much.

You are always welcome, I’m glad I was able to help you with this matter. There is no obligation but by your kind words I wonder if I could trouble you to leave a review based on this experience here:

I’d really appreciate that. 🙂
And if I can be of any further assistance please don’t hesitate to ask.

Good morning.
I’m seeing intermittent failures with the search fading to show any results, just a spinning globe — clearing the CF Cache works sometimes, others not. I’ve attached screen shots of the console if that’s of any help? I’m not sure what’s broken — it may well be something I’ve done but any assistance you can offer would be appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

I should add that this is most obvious as a problem only in Safari on Mac OS X Mojave. Chrome and Opera on the same OS seems OK, and Safari, Chrome & Opera on Mac OS Big Sur also shows expected results.
Thanks & apologies for the double-posting (via Safari).

Please make sure that you are using the latest version of the browser and temporarily deactivate all the browser extensions.
Also, please use the AJAX functionality only after the whole website finishes loading.

Thanks for responding:
1. >> Please make sure that you are using the latest version of the browser
Confirmed.
2. >> and temporarily deactivate all the browser extensions.
Confirmed.
3. >> Also, please use the AJAX functionality only after the whole website finishes loading.
I’m not sure what this means but having waited 5 minutes, the search still fails to work.
4. BTW, I submitted a separate (new) topic with a support issue earlier today which seemed to indicate it was being held “awaiting moderation” but it doesn’t yet seem to have been approved. Could you check?
Thanks very much.

Can you check the browser JavaScript console for errors when you face this issue?
Find information about how to open a JavaScript browser console :
Let me know what JavaScript errors if any you are getting when you face this issue.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I have some similar issues when serving the page behind Azure Front Door. Search results should (mostly) not be cached by the reverse proxy and the way to manage this is for Ivory Search to send the Cache-Control header, which both CloudFlare and Front Door honors. I could not find any reference to cache control in the plugin settings, is this supported?

@Ådne Hovda
Could you please share the page URL from your site where it is happening so I can troubleshoot it?
