By default WordPress displays all the posts for empty search query which means when user searches on the site without adding any words in the search form.
You can change this dwfault WordPress behaviour and instead display a page not found error page by enabling the plugin option Empty Search -> “Display an error for empty search query.” in the Options section of search form as displayed below.
