Hello
If I am being silly, please don’t hesitate to tell me but I am pulling my hair one this one.
I have my Archive Page sorted with the Ivory Search Shortcode in. It looks perfect and does exactly what it says on the tin.
However, this is where I am struggling.
I have 2 search templates:
Template 1: Default template used throughout the site and necessary to be default
Template 2: Another template that is just used for this one search I need to make as it only searches 1 part of the site. When the results are displayed (correctly BTW) and it offers me the “Search Again” box, it goes back to using the Template 1 search rather than allowing me to use Template 2 which has the correct shortcode in it.
Now this is my quandary.
Can you make the shortcode (when used once) allow you to use it again (on the second search) by forcing it to the Template 2? Is there some kind of shortcode extra I am missing or have I just totally missed the blindingly obvious?
I hope all that makes sense.
Thanks 🙂

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
Could you please share the page URLs from your site that you are referring to so I can better understand it and help you?
Best regards,

Hello
The web address for the search is “https://thetrainerstrainingcompany.co.uk/top-trainer-profiles/”.
The search box has your shortcode in it and it works beautifully but we want it to go straight back to be able to search again. We have another search template for this which has your shortcode in it but it just takes us back to the default search template which searches the entire site (which you will see when you.
So for instance, if you search for ‘Social Media’ the first time it brings up the trainer that can do this.
After you search the next time (as you will see) it searches all the site and not the trainers.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks for your time on this 🙂

You should change the search bar displayed on the page https://thetrainerstrainingcompany.co.uk/?s=Social+Media&id=233437&post_type=top-trainer-profiles with the search bar displayed here https://thetrainerstrainingcompany.co.uk/top-trainer-profiles/

Hello
That is my issue though. If I change that search bar in there, then the ‘Site Search’ will not work when it’s needed for another part of the site as it will always keep trying to search for trainers (and not things like blogs).
This is why when we use your shortcode, the results page needs to then be the 2nd search template and not the 1st (the default one it goes to).
Or am I just misunderstanding what you are saying?
I really appreciate your time on this.
Gareth 🙂

What do you mean by 2nd search template?
Could you please share the page URLs of 2nd and 1st search templates?
