Hi, I’m using a WP page builder called Semplice (plugin) and IS to add a search icon to the navigation bar at the top of the page.
In the settings, I am using the menu-search option with the popup option selected which spawns a modal-style window with a focused search field.
Everything works great the first time, but as soon as I click on the site navigation to go to a new page, and then try the search again, the search popup doesn’t launch, and I notice that clicking the search icon has added a “#” to the URL. Manually removing the URL makes the search work again. But navigating to a new page produces the same result.

Does anyone have any idea how to prevent IS from adding # to the URL when I click on the search icon?

Sorry to hear about the problem you are having.

Could you please share the page URL from your site where it is happening so that I can troubleshoot it?

Can you check the JavaScript console for errors when you face this issue?

In Chrome go to “Tools -> Developer Tools” and in Firefox you can go to “Tools -> Web Developer -> Console”

Find information about how to open a JavaScript browser console :

      http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors

Let me know what JavaScript errors if any you are getting when you face this issue.

      Best regards,
