I would like to know if it is possible to choose the redirection page, or rather to know if we can define redirection conditions according to the selection of the user on the search result!
My site is composed of pages with articles on these pages, but there is no page devoted directly to the article!
Example :
My site has a “Video Games” menu (which is a custom post type) in this one there is the “retro gaming” section and on this page there are small articles which are also in another custom post type ( ‘writing’). With ACF I was able to create a hierarchy and display the articles in this page.
The problem is that when I click on a search result for an article, the redirect takes me to a wrong link that I shouldn’t see (localhost://writing/result).
I would like to be able to manage the redirection of the click on the article and that it redirects to the parent page where all the “retro gaming” articles are displayed.
If in my search bar I type “Mario”, it will offer me several articles located in different places on the site:
-Mario Bros on NES –> Retro Gaming
-Photo of Mario –> Photo Album
-The next mario will be released in 2024 –> News
etc., etc
If I click on Mario Bros Nes, I would like it to take me to the NES games page for example…
Moreover, I would like to know if it is possible that the page is automatically fixed at the place of the result (if I have a page with all the games of the NES, Mario Bros will be in the middle of the page and I would like that the redirect puts the scroll directly in the right place).
Thanks 🙂 - November 18, 2022 at 1:19 PM #13786
I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
You can achieve this by developing a custom code.
If you are not a developer, you can consider hiring a developer to develop it. You can hire a developer from any freelance site or WordPress agency.
You can also consider me developing it for you using the form https://ivorysearch.com/custom-work/
Best regards,
