I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
If you are displaying the search form in the website menu then please make sure that you have configured the plugin Menu Search setting with the configured search form as shown in the attached screenshot.
If not then could you please share your site URL where it’s displaying so that I can help you?
Best regards,

I have the same problem. I configured to search pages only in a specific category but all pages are searched. Then I found out that the configuration of limited page searches are linked to the same categories in post searches. The two go together, it is not possible to configure them independently of each other.
Thanks for help.Michael

@michael99 By default the WordPress does not add categories to pages.
Have you added it by developing custom code?
Also, have you used the existing post categories or created a new taxonomy?

Yes, you are right! I had a plugin which activated categories for pages (with the same categories as for posts). I don’t use it anymore and have deactivated it now. Everything works ok again.
Thanks for help!
Best Regards

Hello,
I created a new search form and there are exclusions, yet it pulls up the results from all the pages and posts. It almost appears that a default wordpress search is overriding my settings. Could that be true? This page isn’t public yet. Can I send you the page URL privately?
You can search a term like common cold. I have the search form set to search only posts with the category that I setup (knowledge base), yet you can see it’s pulling up all pages for the results.

@lteachum To help us keep the support thread separated could you please create your own thread for your question instead of posting a reply on others’ thread as it makes the thread messy and hard to read.
If you want to you can also add a reference to this thread in your newly created thread.
We would be more than happy to help you with your new thread.
