When I have AJAX search results ON and the description is set to ON with excerpt or content as ON, the visual composer shortcodes/tags are displayed within the description of the AJAXed results. However, after clicking the search button and being taken to the next page, the visual composer tags are parsed perfectly fine.
Attached is the image example of what I am referring to.
Note: Visual Composer is lately known as WPBakery Page Builder.

I could confirm it on my test site.
I will remove those shortcodes from the search result in the upcoming version of the plugin.
In the meanwhile, you can set Description option of AJAX search results to Excerpt and add the excerpt text manually where you are using WPBakery page builder.
