Hi
I have ivory search installed on my website and loaded into the blog section. When I search my blog content I want it to display the results in order of the number of times the search term appears. I’m not clear which configuration options to choose. Order is currently set to meta_value_num but I cannot find any documentation on that.
As an example, I searched for the word lipolysis in my own blog content.
A post with 3 occurrences came up first
A post with 1 occurrence came up second
A post with 27 occurrences came up third.
It’s picking posts where the search term appears, but they are simply in date order rather than number of appearances. Switching from ASC to DESc simply reverses the order.
How do I get this right please? - July 16, 2020 at 8:35 PM #5279
I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
The plugin uses WordPress search functionality and the WordPress search does not provide an option to achieve what you want to as it is a custom functionality.
You can try achieving it by configuring the plugin search form order to ‘relevance’ as described on the below page.
Please note that it orders by search terms in the following order:
First, whether the entire sentence is matched.
Second, if all the search terms are within the titles.
Third, if any of the search terms appear in the titles.
And, fourth, if the full sentence appears in the contents.Best regards,
