Hi John,
I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
The search results page is displayed by the search.php file of the theme that you are using on your site so the plugin doesn’t control how the pages and media files will be displayed on the search results page but your site theme controls it.
You can change this developing custom code in the search.php file of your child theme by contacting the theme author or consider hiring a developer to develop it for you. You can hire a developer from any freelance site or WordPress agency.
You can also consider hiring me to develop it for you using the form https://ivorysearch.com/custom-work/

You can make these customizations by developing custom code and adding it to the Custom CSS option of Ivory Search plugin settings on the path Admin Area -> Ivory Search -> Settings -> Settings
If you are not a developer, you can consider hiring a developer to develop it. You can hire a developer from any freelance site or WordPress agency.

Could you please share the page URL from your site where it is happening so I can troubleshoot it?

Sorry, I am not sure I understood exactly what you want to achieve so could you please describe it specifically by sharing some screenshots?

1. Search form should contain a close button. It seems impossible to close the search form once opened.
There is a close button to close the menu search form.
Could you please share the page URL from your site where it is not displaying so I can troubleshoot it?
2. Search Icon Link should be shortened to Search.
I am not sure what you mean by shortening the link to search so could you please describe it a bit more?

I have tested it on my test site and it’s working fine for me using the latest version of the plugin.
Please make sure that the tablepress shortcode is clearly visible in the code editor as shown in the attached screenshot.

You must be logged in to view attached files. To help us keep the support thread separated could you please create your own thread for your question instead of posting a reply on others’ thread as it makes the thread messy and hard to read?
If you want to you can also add a reference to this thread in your newly created thread.
We would be more than happy to help you with your new thread.
I hope you are well today and thanks for posting here.
I can see that the portfolio-slideshow-pro plugin is generating javascript error on your website causing the issue so could you please test it by temporarily deactivating the portfolio-slideshow-pro plugin?
Best regards,
Ivory Search SupportThen please content the theme support regarding this.
